A Walt Disney World vacation can be rather expensive. Whether you’re pinching pennies, or splurging, everyone loves a good freebie! Here are 11 free things in and out of the parks.
11. Fireworks: People love spectacle. Fireworks are spectacle. People love fireworks. You can see a different firework show at Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and during certain events at Disney’s Hollywood Studio. Firework viewing is part of your regular park admittance. However, you can see the fireworks from outside the park too! Head to Ticket and Transportation Center, Polynesian Village, or Contemporary to see Magic Kingdom’s fireworks. Go to the Boardwalk area to see fireworks from Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
10. Fastpass+: Fastpass lets you shorten your wait time for certain attractions. It’s free at Walt Disney World, and be thankful, because it’s not free elsewhere.The Quick Queue at Seaworld costs $19, the GO FAST Pass at 6 Flags starts at $45, and the Express Pass at Universal Studios starts at $50. So before you complain that you can only get 3 Fastpass+ times, just be glad that it’s free!
9. Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom: Many people don’t even know about this game! Go to the Fire Station in Town Square to get a free pack of playing cards. Then, you explore the park looking for play windows to battle villains. The windows are located all over the park. Plus, when you go home, you have a fun, free souvenir!
8. Celebration Pins: Stop by Guest Relations in any park, or the concierge desk at your hotel for free celebration pins. The pins include Birthday, Anniversary, First Visit, and a blank pin so you can celebrate anything! Guests and Cast Members will congratulate you all day.
7. Samples: Many candy shops around Walt Disney World offer free samples throughout the day. The Confectionery on Main Street in Magic Kingdom often gives out cotton candy samples. Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop down at Disney Springs also regularly hands out chocolate samples.
6. Campfires at the Resorts: Many resorts on property (the Deluxe and Moderates) offer complimentary campfire fixin’s like marshmallows and roasting sticks. While you’re there, hear stories and sing songs.
5. Pin Trading: Yes, it does cost money to buy a few pins to start. You can buy your starter pins in the parks from a special pack or a la carte. Or, you can find pins online for way cheaper (make sure they are official Disney pins, though, or you won’t be able to trade with them). However you get your pins, once you have them, trading with other guests or with Cast Members (many wear lanyards) is totally free!
4. Movie Nights: Most resorts will show movies outside, weather permitting, in the evenings. This is a fun way to wind down after a fun day in the parks. Movies are typically shown near the pool, or on the beach (where applicable).

This free drink is a smart way to stay cool and hydrated during a hot day. Dehydration is a common complaint at the First Aid Station. Avoid it altogether by taking advantage of free water! When you’re tired of water, head to Club Cool in Epcot to sample Coke products from around the world! Make sure to try the Beverly!

While World Showcase does offer a lot to appeal to adults (like specialty shops and alcohol), each country has a Kidcot Station. Bonus Freebie! If your little princess loves glitter, but you don’t want to shell out the moolah at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, go to Harmony Barber Shop in Magic Kingdom for a sprinkle of pixie dust in her hair!
